Wildlife Watch is the junior branch of the Wildlife Trusts and is made up of a network of local groups, run by qualified volunteers who organise environmental activities for children throughout the country.

If you’re interested in wildlife you could join Wildlife Watch, the action club for young environmentalists (8-14 year-olds).

Do you want to go on a bat walk, go pond dipping or create homes for wildlife? These are just some of the exciting activities you can join in with Wildlife Watch. You can also take part in important wildlife surveys such as Treewatch or the great stag beetle hunt and make valuable contributions to scientific research.

Woodcraft Folk

The Woodcraft Folk is the fastest growing organisation for people aged 6-20. It doesn't just involve Woodcraft! It is the children and youth's organisation of the co-operative movement. Its motto is 'Span The World With Friendship'. The original alternative to the Scouts and Brownies!

Children are divided by age range:

  • Elfins (6 to 9 year olds)
  • Pioneers (10 to 12 year olds
  • Venturers (13 to 15 year olds)
  • District Fellowship (16 to 20 year olds)

The Woodcraft Folk provide a range of activities including crafts, drama, singing, outdoor pursuits and games. There's a strong emphasis on international understanding, which is supported by an active exchange programme. It aims to empower young people to make decisions themselves and to take an active part in the world about them and  promotes an understanding of the need to protect our environment and the use of the world's resources.
