Well the civic amenity sites at Smugglers Way, Wandsworth, may have the solution for you're looking for. The WRWA site runs a furniture cage scheme: residents can take their unwanted furniture to the cage, providing it is in good condition. Several charities, Furnish, Furniture Aid and The Shaftsbury Society amongst them, regularly visit looking for useful items with life left in them. So this is good for charities, good for the environment and good for reducing the clutter at home. The site also offers a wood recycling facility, a handy paint reuse scheme, motor oil recycling facilities, aluminum foil recycling faculties, car batteries recycling amenities, book recycling facility, a skip for green waste, a skip for soil and a metal skip is also on site. On top of all this the site also provides recycling for glass, cans and paper and has two on site SCOPE textile bins for clothing. Fridges can also be collected for recycling free of charge by the council and are recycled along with many of the scrap metal parts. Another sites exists at Cringe St, Battersea.
